About Interpreting and Consulting Services

ICS is a leading provider of sign language interpreting and services. Established in Stockton, California, in 1992, we are now located in Benicia, California. However, we provide services throughout the entire state of California. We have full-time staff members to serve your needs. We also have over 200 contracted interpreters, tutors and educators that we use on a weekly basis.

ICS provides qualified / certified interpreters for various situations and events. We also teach beginning-advanced American Sign Language classes for the general public and privately owned companies. ICS is equipped to teach independent living skills, tutoring, and job coaching to Deaf individuals. Members of our staff are qualified in evaluating interpreters and programs for Deaf students. We can design and personalize workshops and lectures on Deaf Culture and American Sign Language. We have a strong desire to bring together the Deaf and Hearing worlds by breaking down cultural barriers.

ICS is nationally certified by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) and NorCRID, the Northern California chapter of RID. Each interpreter that we contract is a member in good standing with RID. This organization is the governing board for this field. We adhere to a strict code of ethics at all times. This code of ethics includes confidentiality, impartiality, discretion, professional distance, and ethical conduct. Because all of our contractors understand this code, they are able to make the best decision in handling situations that come up in any event.

ICS is a 24-hour service, which means that we are always just a phone call away at any given time. Our regular office hours are Monday-Friday from 8:30am-5:00pm. Before and after hours we request our paging system be used.
